One Year On: Our Journey with Watford FC & Network My Club

Published 31st July 2025

Why Shelley Offices Joined Watford FC Business Networking

It’s hard to believe it’s already been a year since we joined the Watford FC Business Club through Network My Club. When we first got involved, it wasn’t just about brand exposure or ticking a networking box, it was about being part of something meaningful in our local business community.

At Shelley Offices, we’ve always believed that business growth doesn’t just happen within four walls. It comes from real connections, shared goals, and the kind of collaboration you can only build by being present. This opportunity offered all of that  and more, right on our doorstep.

Key Highlights from Year One

From the very first event at Vicarage Road, we knew we’d made a good decision. The networking events are well organised, well attended, and refreshingly informal. You don’t feel like you’re being sold to, you feel like you’re part of a conversation.

What stood out most to us over the past 12 months has been the variety of people in the room. One week you’re chatting with a tech startup, the next it’s a local charity, and the next a legal firm or marketing agency. Every event brings something new.

Real Results: New Clients & Collaborations

The best part? It’s not just talk. This past year, being part of the Watford FC business network has genuinely moved the needle for us:

  • We've built new client relationships through introductions we’d never have made otherwise.
  • We've teamed up with other businesses on joint projects and partnerships.
  • We've raised our profile locally, which has helped show our ongoing commitment to the Watford and Hertfordshire business community.

We’re big believers in making space for good business to happen, and sometimes, that starts with a casual chat over a coffee at a football ground.

A Unique Networking Culture

There’s something different about this group. It’s relaxed but still professional. Friendly, but still focused. Whether you're a solo founder or part of a bigger team, everyone’s treated with the same level of respect.

That open culture really matters to us. It reflects how we operate our own spaces inclusive, community-driven, and built around the idea that every business, no matter the size, deserves room to grow.

We’ve also taken inspiration from the stories we've heard. Listening to others share how they’ve navigated challenges or tried something new has pushed us to think a little differently in our own work.

Looking to the Future – What’s Next

We’re still deciding what the next chapter of our sponsorship journey looks like, but one thing’s for sure, we’re staying active in this network. The value goes far beyond business cards and LinkedIn connections. It’s about showing up, getting involved, and supporting a community that supports each other.

To Network My Club, Watford FC, and everyone we’ve met over the last year thank you. You’ve made this more than just a sponsorship; you’ve made it a real partnership.
